Some events that partner directly with Athlinks to post their results live also opt to use our new and improved Map Tracking feature! These partners account for only a small number of events on our site, so you may want to get in touch with the event organizer to see if they will be providing map tracking.
Whether you're on a computer or on a mobile device, if the event is using the Map Tracking feature, you'll be able to spectate any athlete on a map as soon as the race starts.
On a Computer or Mobile Browser
First, locate the Event using the search bar at the top of any page in Athlinks.
Computer:
Mobile:
After you click the event title, click the Results tab, and then locate the person you'd like to view on the map, either by browsing the list or by searching.
Computer:
Mobile:
Once you've located the person you want to track, click their name, then click the View On Map button.
Computer:
Mobile:
If you don't see the button, the participant may not have started the race yet, so just give it a minute or two.
When you click the View On Map button, you'll be directed to the map view.

The white area on the left (computer) or bottom (mobile) will show total elapsed time since the athlete's start and their average pace, Course Elevation information, and Split Timing information.
The map itself will show potions of the course they've completed as solid blue. The portion of the course the athlete is currently on will show light blue with white arrows. Any portions of the course they haven't reached yet will show as gray.
There are several helpful tools in the lower right corner of the screen as well. The question mark icon will display a legend to help make sense of what you see on the map. The targeting icon will focus the map on the whole course. The plus and minus icons allow you to zoom the map.
